Description
The intention is to make a functional and poetic piece that is a joy to use. The piece is raised allowing your eye to travel to where the floor meets the wall, making the room feel spacious and calm. The surface has a bowl carved into the top for fruit, objects or collections of special things. The piece also includes hand made hinges and hardware designed and made by us. Giving a gentle opening and closing mechanism. SASA Works furniture is designed to be 'visually quiet', made from elemental materials and built to last. This piece gives a beautiful and poetic useabilty to everyday functionality. The design of Alter cabinet was inspired by a trip to sacred sites in Ethiopia where the functional blends with the sacred. In each rock cut church in Lallibela there is a cabinet to store the precious items.
